It has been a really long time since I have posted an update. I thought it was time.
Ever since August it seems like I have been on a crazy and emotional ride. My weight loss has gone up and down and really hasn't been all that great. This is mostly due to my disgusting athletes foot which really threw me off track. I was on an awesome roll and then all of a sudden I had to halt all physical activity. It really sucked and stopped my momentum. It took awhile for me to get to the point where I could even put on shoes other than flip flops. Thankfully I can workout in sneakers now and am ready to jump start my weight loss again!
I had weight in last night and I am happy to report that I lost 2.2lbs last week for a total of 47.8lbs!! I know....sounds familiar. That is because I have been yo-yoing between 44 and 47lbs since SEPTEMBER!! Not because I hit a plateau, more like because i'm an idiot and I wasn't really doing what I needed to do. Now I am and I hope to break out of this cycle next week.
I have been really motivated at the gym and feel really strong physically. I have been doing the elliptical for 45mins each gym session and then finish off with the treadmill and some weights. Each time at the gym I burn on average 750 calories (according to the machines, but who knows how accurate those things are). I love using the elliptical because it's low impact and really makes me sweat out all the cupcakes and pizza. I usually read while I'm on it and it makes time go by soooo fast!!
I HATE treadmills. I'm sorry but I really do. I am an outside person so the idea of being a hamster and running and running and not getting anywhere...is annoying. However, I have been using it alot and am starting to warm up to it. The best part is that after my elliptical I do 30 mins on the treadmill. I also have been RUNNING 1/4 miles. This is awesome. I started out only being able to run from stop sign to tree. So to be able to run 1/4 mile..that is something awesome for me. So....yay! I hope to keep running and eventually be able to run longer and faster. Of course my ultimate goal is the Miles for Melanoma 5k for Michelle at the end of next summer. I can do it!!
So basically long story short, I wanted to update you all and let you know that I have not given up! The opposite really! I am more motivated than ever and I cannot waitttt to reach my 50lb goal!! I can do it and it will happen soon. I just have to keep going!
