Mike. Kidding. My jokes are so lame and corny. haha
But in all seriousness I want to be just like...Colleen, Emmie and Alan.
Seriously. I'm not kidding.
I am the typical fat girl that has been on a "diet" 20 years out of her 27 years of life. No joke, my parents put me in weight watchers in 2nd grade. That wasn't embarrassing...nope, not at all.....lies. What is finally different now than in the past is that something clicked. Growing up my doctor always told my parents that there is nothing they can do to really help me lose weight. I have to do it myself. Something has to just click inside me to turn on the spark to really do this. And guess what...at age 26...I got that spark. Finally.
Something inside me is screaming and yelling at me to do this.
To not give up.
To keep trying.
To work hard.
To quit old bad habits.
To feel good.
To finally do this for real.
Ok...now to the good stuff:
Along this journey I have gotten a lot of help and inspiration from a lot people, but there is one person who has really inspired me SO much, and her name is Colleen. I wanted to share her journey with all of you because I am clearly obsessed with it. I know Colleen from highschool and the reason I can relate so much to her is because I think we have alot in common. We both are very confident and have similar personalities. I think that is why I always pissed her off in the flute section. Yup...band nerds, don't care. We both played sports throughout highschool and I think we even probably had a crush on the same boys. hahaha
I have been stalking her out on facebook throughout the past 3 years and have been obsessively reading her blog and always anticipating a new post. She has lost over 230lbs (wtf!!) and I can't even give her story justice so you should just read it here: No More Excuses
This girl is 100% the reason why I started running. She is an amazing athlete and I am such a huge fan.
Thank you Colleen! You are amazing, I will never give up and I hope to be just like you someday!
I thought it would be totally creepy to write a whole blog love fest post about one of my inspirations so I decided to share a few others. I will say that having a twitter, blog and instagram has been the most positive weightloss tool throughout all of this. Even though I have never met these people, they still inspire me to never give up. Seeing other people on their journey just makes me want to work hard too.
Emmie aka SkinnyEmmie is one of the first weightloss blogs I ever started to read. I have been following her for a really long time and she inspired me to start my own blog. I have the biggest girl crush on her (a girl crush is that you want to be their best friend. not what you are thinking). I want to be her bff. Seriously creepy since I have never met her, but she is amazingggg. She has a weightloss blog AND a fashion blog!! I love my fashion so I am completely obsessed with her fashion blog, obviously.
Emmie didn't give me permission to write about her journey yet, so I won't really say much except please go to her blog. She is so amazing and inspirational. I see myself in her so much and she has the cutest style ever. Buy one of her tshirts....so freakin cuuuuute.

The last inspiration I want to talk about is Alan. This guy is amazinggggg. He has a drive like I have never seen before. His attitude is pretty much: no excuses, just do it. I love it. I have only been following his journey for a month or two but it is so inspirational. If someone can work all day, prep their weekly meals and then hit the gym at 11pm...then wtf is your excuse? That's right...you don't have one.
As with everyone, I sometimes try to make an excuse as to why I can't do something. Then I think about Alan and how far he has come. If he made excuses everyday then he wouldn't be as successful as he is. That makes me get the hell up and go run or go to the gym. No excuses, just do it.
Here is his blog: Sweating Until Happy
Go check it out, you will love it.
The reason why I am sharing these three stories is because I think it is important for people on the same journey to stick together. I know that a lot of people that read this blog are on the same exact journey as me and I know that they will be inspired from these guys too. There are so many amazing blogs out there that are inspirational and you can find some of them under my blog roll. I seriously wouldn't have been able to last this long without giving up if it wasn't for the inspiration I have received from these 3 people as well as all my other virtual friends on twitter and instagram. I am so thankful that they share their stories with the public. Without them I know I would have given up.
So...in summary...THANK YOU! Thank you for working so hard and sharing with the world your story. It is because of YOU that so many people are making the positive lifestyle change. You should be proud of yourself, you are changing lives.
p.s.- if you have a blog you want to share or read an inspirational blog that inspires you...please share with me! xoxo
