January 2nd

Of course this is the predictable post where I write about how I fell off track, survived the holidays and added about 10lbs of extra insulation for the winter season. It's happened, now I'm dealing with it.

It's January 2nd and you know what that means...ready to get back on track. And no...this is NOT a New Years resolution...this is just me getting back into my healthy lifestyle.  I refuse to call it a resolution because it's not something I just randomly am starting at the beginning of the year...this is my lifestyle change.

Today I finally picked up a new battery for my polar and I'm anxious to start recording my heart rate and calorie burns at the gym.  Tonight I will be going to my friends cardio kickboxing class and it will be a great workout! I also started back on My Fitness Pal, a great tool for logging your calorie intake and workouts.

The best part of this is that my best friends are also starting over.  We were all doing so great and got a little off track...it's so wonderful that we are all getting back into it together!

Anyone else starting fresh for 2014?  Nothing wrong with that!! What are your plans?!

  2. 2014 is definitely a fresh start. I agree with you about not making weight loss a resolution. It kind of trivializes it. Instead I made a bunch of little resolutions that will help me in my lifestyle change.

  4. No resolutions, those are stupid.... :) Lifestyle change and recommitment to doing what you have already done and already know how to do.... BUT a new year does bring on the ability to get a fresh start and refocus our efforts. December is BRUTAL for everyone. I barely survived but we all did survive and now we are here... :) looking forward to seeing what 2014 will bring for you Julie. I just love you and wish nothing but the best for you!

  5. 2013 was so disappointing, or rather *I* was.

2014 will be utterly magnificent. I've got the tools, I've got the will. I'm losing 100 lbs this year, with all the associated health benefits. :)

  7. OH yes! Starting over too. I also went a little "holiday crazy" but was lucky not to have gained TOO much. PHEW! But I didn't go near the gym the entire time either so I am jiggly all over. *sigh* So back to the gym this week and start again. And no, I made no resolutions for 2014. Good luck for this new year. Let us all know how you progress and what you are up to regularly.
